Arts Impact
ROLE: Teaching Artist/ Academy Facilitator
Location: Port Townsend, WA
Duration: Current
As a Teaching Artist with Arts Impact, I empower educators to integrate art seamlessly into their classrooms, enriching student learning experiences. I train teachers to incorporate creative practices into core subjects, fostering engagement and innovation. In addition to leading professional development workshops, I have coordinated a dynamic Summer Academy, bringing teachers together to explore art-infused lessons and hands-on activities. I also develop my own art-integrated lessons, blending math and ELA concepts with creative expression to inspire both educators and students. My work bridges the gap between academics and the arts, making learning more accessible, engaging, and impactful.
2023
ROLE: Artist in Residence - EMERSON ELEMENTARY- SKYWAY
Claudia collaborated with two grade levels at Emerson Elementary—5th and 2nd grade—to create two unique murals. The 5th-grade mural was designed for a cistern that would later be permanently installed on the school’s property. This mural, a lasting contribution to the campus, was created through a collaborative design process between Claudia and the 5th-grade students. The 2nd-grade mural was a vibrant mosaic located in the garden space. Claudia facilitated this project, guiding the 2nd graders as they created mosaic pieces representing their vision for the garden. The artwork captured the students’ creativity and brought their garden to life.

ROLE: Artist in Residence - Seattle Academy- 8th Grade Challenge Mural
Seattle Academy hosts an annual 8th Grade Challenge, where 200 8th graders volunteer with 53 different organizations. As part of this year’s challenge, we facilitated the creation of a three-panel mural that beautifully incorporated the initials of each organization and a unique contribution from every student.
ROLE: Program Curator- In partnership with Mo Pop and HopeCorp.
Claudia curated the Hope Corp Grant 2023 programming for the Museum of Pop Culture, featuring a series of four highly attended workshops that showcased the talents of five accomplished local artists. Each workshop focused on the unique artistic medium of a featured artist, offering guests an immersive, hands-on experience to explore creativity through the lens of these professionals.
